How to Reestablish Removed Goals in Google Ads
Overview
During internal testing to improve our Google Ads destination, we made backend updates to conversion goal configurations in the Elevar account. While these updates were intended to optimize future functionality, they unintentionally affected some connected Google Ads accounts, particularly those using specific goal settings.
Follow this guide to help determine whether your campaigns were impacted, how to review your change history, and restore your preferred conversion goals if needed.
Who Needs to Take Action?
You do not need to take any action if:
- Your campaigns do not use Begin Checkout or Add to Cart as conversion goals.
- Your campaigns rely exclusively on account-level goals (rather than campaign-specific ones).
You should follow this guide if:
- Your campaigns use Begin Checkout and/or Add to Cart as campaign-specific conversion actions.
- You’ve noticed performance changes or drops in conversion reporting in your Google Ads account.
- You want to verify and restore any conversion goals that may have been altered during this testing period.
