How to Verify Existing TikTok Pixel Setup Method
Overview
Verifying the TikTok Pixel setup method is an important step in accurate tracking and data collection for your store. This verification helps you confirm whether the pixel is correctly implemented and aligned with the setup method you used, whether that’s Elevar, Shopify, or a custom solution.
By accessing an item that triggers the "View Content" event and expanding the relevant section in the Pixel Helper, you can the setup method. For example, if you see "Elevar" listed under the "View Content" section, it indicates that the pixel was set up using an Elevar process or the Elevar partner method. If the setup method is shown as "Shopify," it suggests that the pixel was configured directly through Shopify and you will need to create a new Pixel in order to complete the integration.
How to Verify Existing TikTok Pixel Setup Method
Access Item in Store:
- Begin on your store and access an item that would fire the "View Content" event.
Locate Setup Method in Pixel Helper:
- Once on a page or item that would fire the "View Content" event, navigate to the TikTok Pixel Helper extension in the same browser page.
- Within the extension, navigate the "View Content" section and click on the drop-down arrow.
- Locate the section of the page titled "Setup Method" and here you can verify if the pixel is set up via "Elevar" or "Shopify".
