How to Disable Native ShareASale App Tracking in Shopify

If you are launching the ShareASale Server-Side tracking via Elevar then you must delete the Sharesale App from your Shopify Store to remove the native Pixel Tracking

ShareASale does not allow you to separate use of the Catalog vs the Pixel in the app. You can either use another software for your ShareASale Feed Management like GoDataFeed or continue to use the native app for your ShareASale tracking.


Uninstalling ShareASale App


1. Navigate to Settings:

  • Go to the "Home" page of the Shopify platform.
  • Locate and click the "Settings" button, typically located in the lower left-hand corner of the page.

2. Access Apps and Sales Channels:

  • Once in the settings, a navigation menu will appear.
  • From this menu, find and click on "Apps and sales channels".
    • (See Figure 2)

3. Find the ShareASale App:

  • Within the "Apps and sales channels" section, a list of previously installed apps and channels will appear.
  • Locate "ShareASale" within this list.
  • Once hovering over the desired app, click on the red highlighted "Uninstall" button.

4. Uninstalling ShareASale

  • After locating and clicking on the "Uninstall" button for the desired app, a popup window will appear asking for confirmation.
  • Within this confirmation window, find the final "Uninstall" button located in the lower-right hand corner.
  • Finally, click on this button to confirm the uninstallation of the ShareASale app.

(If Applicable) Uninstalling ShareASale Advanced Tracking

If you have set up the Advanced Tracking section in ShareASale, then be sure to remove the following tracking as well.

You have Advanced Tracking configured if your ShareASale app looks like this:

5. Navigate to Settings:

  • Go to the homepage of the Shopify platform.
  • Locate and click the "Settings" button, typically located in the lower left-hand corner of the page.

6. Access Customer Events:

  • Once in the settings, a navigation menu will appear.
  • From this menu, find and click on "Customer Events".

7. Find ShareASale Advanced Tracking:

  • Within the "Customer events" section of the settings, a list of previously installed App Pixels and Custom App Pixels will appear.
    • Locate the Custom Pixel with your ShareASale Advanced Tracking in it. (Search for the custom title, ex. "ShareASale Advanced Tracking" or "ShareASale"). See Figure 7.1 for example of what a Custom Pixel code will look like.

  • Once located, click on the three dots on the right side of the bar.

8. Delete the ShareASale Advanced Tracking:

  • After clicking on the three dots, find the "Delete" button from the provided drop-down menu.
  • Select "Delete".
    • (See Figure 8)

9. Uninstalling ShareASale Advanced Tracking:

  • After locating and clicking on the "Delete" button from the drop-down menu, a popup window will appear asking for confirmation.
  • Within this confirmation window, find the final "Delete" button located in the lower-right hand corner.
  • Finally, click on this button to confirm the uninstalling of the ShareASale Advanced Tracking.
