Verify Elevar Tags Firing Using Google Tag Assistant
Overview
When integrating Elevar with Google Tag Manager (GTM), it's important to ensure that Elevar tags fire according to the user’s consent. Follow this guide to learn how to verify Elevar tag firing using Google Tag Assistant.
Verify Elevar Tags Firing Using Google Tag Assistant
Here are the cases to verify that the Elevar tags are firing with the correct consent values:
Default Consent: (See Figure 1)
- Action: Fire Elevar tags with default consent values set in the Pieeye template.
- Details: If the user has not explicitly given or withdrawn consent, the Elevar tags should operate under default settings.
- Example: In this setup, the default consent denies all except for essential cookies. The dl_user_data tag is an Elevar tag that is triggered with this default consent state.

Consent Given or Update: (See Figure 2)
- Action: Fire Elevar tags with updated consent values.
- Details: When a user provides consent, ensure that the Elevar tags are triggered and updated to capture the necessary data.
- Example: When the user interacts with the consent banner and clicks Accept All, this action updates the consent state.
Figure 2
- The Elevar tag fires when consent is updated, and the user_engagement event is triggered upon this update.
- (See Figure 3)

Ensure that your GTM setup correctly manages these consent states and updates the Elevar tags based on the current consent status.
