How to Set Up Ketch Consent Mode with Elevar's Google Consent Mode Integration

Overview

Follow this guide to learn how to set up and connect Ketch Consent Mode with Elevar's Google Consent Mode Integration.


Connect Your Google Tag Manager Container:

Access Systems:

  • Begin on your Ketch homepage. In the left-hand navigation panel, click on "Data Map". An additional dropdown will appear, click on the "Systems" tab.

Add Google Tag Manager as a System:

  • Once you have accessed the Systems page, locate and click the "Add System" button.
  • Use the search function to locate and click on "Google Tag Manager". When it appears, click to add it to your list of systems.

Add New Connection:

  • You will now see a Google Tag Manager tile on your "Systems" page. Click on the Google Tag Manager tile to open its settings.
  • Inside the GTM system panel, click on the "New Connection" button.

Configure Connection Details:

  • Once you have clicked on the "New Connection" button you will need to enter the required fields in order to configure your connection.
    • Navigate to the section titled "Name" and use the text box to enter a name for this connection.
    • Navigate to the section titled "Code" and use the text box to enter an internal reference or identifier.
    • Navigate to the section titled "Description" and use the text box to enter a short description of what this connection is for.

Enter Your Google Tag Manager Account and Container IDs:

  • Next, you will need to provide both your Account ID and Container ID from Google Tag Manager.
  • To find your Account ID, open the Google Tag Manager container you want to connect in your browser. Then look at the URL in your browser’s address bar. Your Account ID is the number that appears directly after /accounts/ in the URL.
  • To find your Container ID, open the Google Tag Manager container you want to connect in your browser. Then look at the URL in your browser’s address bar. Your Container ID is the number after /containers/.
  • Once you have both IDs, return to the Ketch connection form and paste each into its respective text box.
