How to Use Usercentrics Consent Management with Elevar's Google Consent Mode Integration via Google Tag Manager Template
Overview
Implementing Usercentrics CMP via Google Tag Manager (GTM) allows websites to manage user consent effectively. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for deploying the Usercentrics Consent Management Platform using GTM.
Prerequisites:
Before you can begin your Usercentrics specific setup, you will need to:
- Enable Consent Mode in your Shopify Store. Follow this guide to learn how to do this.
- Ensure that you have a Google Tag Manager set up with a web container and the Google Tag Manager snippet added to your website. Follow this guide to learn how to do this.
How Create the Tag Using the Usercentrics CMP Template
Access Tag Templated Gallery:
- Begin on the homepage of your GTM account and use the left-hand navigation menu to click on the "Templates" tab.
- Once in the Template settings of your GTM account, navigate to the section of the page titled "Tag Templates".
- Locate and click on the "Search Gallery" button located in the upper right-hand corner of this section.

Locate the Usercentrics CMP Community Tag Template:
- Once you have accessed the gallery, an additional window will appear titled "Import Tag Templates".
- Use the search function in the upper right hand corner of the window to locate and click on the "Usercentrics CMP" option from the list of community tag templates.

Add Template to Workspace:
- After you have clicked on the "Usercentrics CMP" option from the list of community tag templates, an additional window will appear titled "Template Details".
- Locate and click on the "Add to workspace" button located in the upper right-hand corner of the window.

Confirm and Add Tag:
- After you have clicked on the "Add to workspace" button, an additional confirmation window will appear titled "Are you sure you want to add a community template?".
- Read the provided information in this window and then click on the "Add" button located in the lower right-hand corner of the window.
