How to Disable the X (Twitter) Pixel in Shopify

Overview

Follow this guide to learn how to disable the X (Twitter) Pixel in Shopify. If you are launching the X (Twitter) Event Tracking via Elevar then you must delete the X (Twitter) Sales Channel from your Shopify Store to remove the native Pixel Tracking.


How to Disable the X (Twitter) Pixel in Shopify

Navigate to Settings:

  • Begin on the homepage of your Shopify app.
  • Locate and click the "Settings" button or gear icon located in the lower left-hand corner of the page.

Access Apps and Sales Channels:

  • Once in the settings, a navigation menu will appear on the left-hand side of the page.
  • From this menu, locate and click on the "Apps and sales channels" tab.

Locate X (Twitter) App:

  • Within the "Apps and sales channels" section, a list of previously installed apps and channels will appear.
  • Locate the X (Twitter) app from this list and click on the three dots button. An additional drop-down menu will appear, click on the "Uninstall" button.

Uninstall X (Twitter):

  • After locating and clicking on the "Uninstall" button for the X (Twitter) app, a popup window will appear asking for confirmation.
  • Within this confirmation window, ensure that you have read the warning regarding the risk of uninstalling the sales channel. Then, locate and click "Uninstall" button located in the lower-right hand corner.
