3.22 December 9th, 2024

This release includes enhancements for support ticket creation, in-app guidance for updating web container tags, and improved view item event detection. Additional updates have been made to reporting for greater clarity regarding consent mode and Shopify Markets. Plus, Microsoft Advertising (Bing) is officially out of beta!

Data Layer

  • Improved performance in detecting detecting the dl_view_item data layer event when a visitor changes between product variants. This update has browser limitations and is expected to work only with Chrome and Edge browsers.

Bug Fixes:

  • dl_signup Event: Updated to the dl_signup event detection to ensure the event triggers when a signup challenge is presented.
  • Facebook (Meta) Cookie: A previous enhancement for Facebook, which increased the number of browser-side events passing a Facebook cookie value to improve performance and EMQ scores, has been modified for better consent considerations. Cookies will continue to be generated only if consent is accepted for setups with consent enabled.

Destinations

New Destinations:

  • Microsoft Advertising (Bing): Microsoft Advertising (Bing) is no longer in beta! It is now an approved destination. [How to Set Up ]

Reddit:

  • Now includes a web container for improved performance, that passes data to Reddit from both the browser and the server. Access your Reddit destination within the Elevar app to update your setup via the web container.

Yotpo:

  • A new server-side parameter, cart_value, has been added. This parameter enables calculations within the Yotpo platform for conditional logic, with values such as greater than or less than cart_value.

Google Ads:

  • Merchant ID has been moved to advanced options. This field is optional and enables sending cart data with your conversions when populated.

TikTok:

  • The browser event for beginning a checkout has been renamed to "InitiateCheckout" to align with TikTok’s standard event naming. The previous name of "StartCheckout" will continue to function and map appropriately within TikTok's platform. To refresh you tags to the latest updates, access your TikTok destination within the Elevar app and update your web container.

Google Analytics 4:

  • Shipping method is now available for the server-side add_shipping_info event per Google's available parameters.
  • “Activate user-provided data collection” setting can now be disabled within the GA4 destination.

Omnisend:

  • Updated mapping for parameters in the add-to-cart server-side event.

Subscriptions:

  • Ordergroove subscription tags have been added to subscription logic to enable server-side subscription purchase events to identify a first subscription when the initial subscription purchase is made.
  • The subscription step has removed the option to select a third-party checkout for all destinations. This is the result of Shopify no longer supporting third-party checkouts as of October 18th, 2024.

Platform

  • Improved Update Flow: When making updates to your live destinations that require re-importing your Google Tag Manager (GTM) web containers, users will now be guided to the web container update step. An "Action Needed" icon has also been added to destination until this step is completed to ensure that tracking remains in sync for both browser and server side tracking.
  • Enhanced Consent Mode Warnings: When enabling consent mode on your source and each destination, additional details about potential risks and expected impacts will now be displayed.
  • Destination Step Linking: Users can now generate links to specific steps within a destination. To share a link, navigate to the desired destination step, select “...”, and choose “Copy link”. This link will direct users to the specified step.
  • Enhancements to logging support tickets within the Elevar app. Users can now add additional contacts to the initial ticket and select multiple websites if the issue affects more than one site.
  • Improved billing and sign-up flows with additional navigation for accessing payment methods, audits, and setups.
  • Various tooltip and modal updates for improved guidance and clarification.

Reporting

  • When Shopify Markets is configured, reports will now display "unconfigured market ID" or "no market ID" to differentiate between the two.
  • Server Event Logs now differentiate consent details for events based on consent not provided and consent not granted for setups that have consent mode enabled. If any of the required consent values are denied the ignored status will be "consent not provided". If any of the required consent values are not provided the ignored status will be "consent not granted". This will enable greater visibility to how consent impacts your server events.

Chrome Extension

  • Additional details have been added to the Elevar Chrome browser extension. When using the What's Tagged feature you can now view event names, event parameters, and user properties for tags in Google Tag Manager (GTM).
